Alison Slocombe

Senior Associate

About

Alison has worked exclusively in family law since 2007, including across  difficult parenting matters and complicated property settlements. After completing her Bachelor of Laws & Bachelor of Business in 2006, Alison obtained her Master of Law (Applied Law) majoring in Family Law in 2015.

As an experienced family lawyer, Alison appreciates that family law disputes can be overwhelming, stressful, and full of uncertainty.  Alison works to minimise the impact on our clients, their children, and their family. Her priority is to guide families towards a bright, certain, and stable future.

‘Family law is incredibly rewarding because you get to really help people when they are facing some of their worst, or hardest moments. Being able to help each family, each client, through such a difficult part of their journey is what makes the work so meaningful.’

Areas of Expertise

Family law, including difficult parenting matters and complicated property matters.

Approach to Family Law

Alison thinks outside of the square and often has multiple options available for one scenario. The ability to look at things from different points of views and find alternatives enables her to work with her clients to find the approach that is going to work best for them. By keeping an open mind when parties aren’t finding common ground, and trying different approaches, she is able to help her clients reach workable resolutions, even if the outcome is less usual or hadn’t been considered before. She enjoys helping people to make sensible and informed decisions, and encourages her clients to consider how their family law matters will impact their family long-term, especially with parenting matters.
